چکیده

In this paper, we present our proposal of a learner model for the personalization of learning in distance and on line learning environments. The current researches on semantic referential with ontologies and the semantic web allow us to believe in the importance of the integration of semantic in actor modeling. We propose a learner model that is competency oriented and that integrates the learner ePortfolio. The model needs also to be holistic and evolving. It should reflect the perception of the learner that the different actors of the process may have. We will first describe the model static structure. We then explain the notion and interest of multi-viewpoints in the context of learner modeling. Finally, we discuss the issues related to the model evolution and we explain how our model integrates these notions.

Framework for a Competency-Driven, Multi-viewpoint, and Evolving Learner Model

Considering learning as a dynamic, evolving, social, and lifelong process which occurs in a wide variety of contexts, we aim to improve online learning by offering learning adaptation possibilities, lifelong learning followup, learning evolution follow-up, openness to the learner’s contexts (personal, professional, and academic), and openness to actors involved in the learning process. To achie...

Holistic use of analysis models in model-based system testing

Nowadays software testing techniques have to fulfill the requirements of growing complexity of evolving software systems. To handle the requirements current research is strongly interested in the field of model-based testing (MBT). While MBT is becoming the next generation of testing, using it in practice at the system test level two main problems arise: missing use of analysis models for testi...

The Effectiveness of Holistic Multi-dimensional Treatment Model (HMTM) in the Treatment of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Introduction: Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) belong to the pervasive neurodevelopmental disorders. The prevalence of ASD has increased significantly throughout recent decades, bringing the overall estimated prevalence to 11.3 per 1000 children. ASD is characterized by severe difficulties in reciprocal social interaction, stereotyped patterns of behavior and profound impairments in verbal and n...

Multi-theory model of behavior change: an appropriate model for creating health behaviors

Evolving evidence shows that health promotion interventions that explicitly use models and theories that are rooted in social and behavioral sciences, are more effective than interventions without a theoretical framework [1]. Testing theories and models is a critical step that should be conducted before utilizing them for intervention development [2].
